Old South Images is the creative vision of multi-award winning photographer, T. Lowry Wilson.

Lowry began his love for photography at the age of 14 after saving enough money to buy his first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, which he purchased for $14.95 from a local drug store. While attending Clarke College in Newton, Mississippi, he assisted the yearbook staff photographer with developing black & white film in the college darkroom, and later he became the main photographer and editor. This experience led to a full-time photography business, and in 1987 he opened his first studio, Creative Images, in Newton, specializing in portrait and wedding photography.

During his photography career, Lowry has photographed close to 600 weddings and made countless portraits. Although he no longer actively pursues this area of the business, he occasionally still gets referrals from prior portrait and wedding clients.

In 1997, Lowry closed the photography studio to pursue other business interests. Today, he continues his passion for photography. Old South Images is a showcase of that passion and a reflection of his current work and efforts to capture the pure essence of the South in photographic images.

From the rich and colorful flatlands of the Mississippi Delta to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and beyond, Lowry seeks to make a record of our most precious gifts. Whether capturing the natural wonder of the most isolated scene untouched by man, or the fascinating and sometimes humorous manufactured wonders of our world, he uses the camera as an artists brush, to bring to life the story in the everyday moments that pass us by.
